Edward Bawden RA (1903-1989) ▴ Edward Bawden RA (1903-1989) 'The Mill' signed 'Edward Bawden' l.r., pencil and watercolour 27.5 x 40.5cm This is an early work by the artist and we can see the similarities between this and 'Bullford Mill near Black Notley, Essex', 1927, in the Fry Art Gallery collection. We are grateful for Colin Wilkin's assistance with the cataloguing of this lot. Condition Report: Framed 54 x 67cm There are several small holes to the top and bottom corners on the right hand side where the work appears to have been previously stapled. The colour appears to be slightly faded with a small number tiny dark spots to the top half, please see images. Unexamined out of glazed frame.
