Edward H. Bohlin "The Ward" Model Sterling Silver Parade Saddle
Fanciful and lovely black, floral carved, high back, square skirt, Bohlin silver parade saddle made by Hollywood's "Saddlemaker to the Stars" in the 1940s. The parade ensemble includes original matching Bohlinmade headstall, breast collar, stirrups and silver overlaid bit. Multiple Bohlinmade maker-marks appear on the seat, buckles, corner plates and gullet. The saddle is adorned with heavy gauge silver corner plates, conchos, rope-edged cantle and gullet cover. The elegant and artistically detailed silver work is representative of the finer and more meticulous engraving that Bohlin emphasized in his earlier parade saddles, as evidenced by the regal design on the back of the high cantle surrounding the three gold initials.
