Exhibited: London, Martyn Gregory, Early English Watercolours and Drawings, 1986, Cat. 45, No. 38; together with two further drawings in pencil on paper by the same artist to include those entitled Carrick Gladden Cove, Bay of St Ives, signed and dated 'Oct.11.1848. / E W Cooke' (lower right), inscribed 'CARRICK GLADDEN COVE, Bay of St IVES' (lower centre), 14.6 x 13.7 cm Provenance: with Martyn Gregory, London, February 1990. Literature: J. Munday, E.W.Cooke 1811-80, 1996, p. 369, Plate 320, and Mont St Michel, inscribed 'From the S.W.' (lower left), the reverse with sketches of two soldiers, a drummer soldier, a marching group, a transport carriage with horse facing backwards in the shafts, drawn in 1836, 10.5 x 16.5 cm.
