A mahogany regency table salon, England, second quarter 19th century
Under the top cover a writing area with lectern and various compartments, glass inkwell (cap missing). Below this a drawer with several upholstered compartments, in the centre a lid with tangle basket. Four carved wooden corner ornaments, the tangle basket upholstered on the outside with velvet and accoladed. The whole resting on two octagonal baluster legs on two separate bases ending with carved scrollwork and on original brass castors.
