The Tulip table is part of the famous collection designed by Eero Saarinen, an American architect and designer of Finnish origin, for Knoll in 1957. Saarinen's intent was to eliminate the traditional legs of tables and chairs, using modern plastic materials, which for some time had been at the centre of his interests as a designer. The Tulip table and coffee table have an aluminium base covered with a plastic material reinforced with fibreglass, available in white or black. Top White plastic laminate with lacquered finish. Thickness of the laminate = thickness 3 cm Base Die-cast aluminium (original design by Saarinen) . The black and white bases have a protective finish in Rilsan.
