Egmond - V 1230 gitaarversterker - Guitar amplifier V1230 - Netherlands - 1964
The Dutch guitar maker Egmond (almost every starting band, domestic and abroad, played an Egmond in the early 1970s, including for example Brian May from Queen, Stones, Beatles and Dutch rockers like Peter Koelewijn. In addition to guitars, Egmond also built amplifiers, mainly with Philips parts. These combo amplifiers, a later V 1230, filled a gap in the market at the time, which until then was dominated by the German Dynacord. The Egmond, because of the two 30 cm/12 inch speakers, was the Dutch counterpart of the English VOX AC30, which were not yet available in the Netherlands. Because of the collaboration with Philips, a very professional amplifier was created, on which no less than 3 guitars could be played. This later V 1230 is equipped with a control panel with more options: depth and frequency, bass and treble tone controls and volume 1 and volume 2. There are three instrument inputs. The included switch is from Marshall. The cabinet is made of wood with the typical artificial leather Egmond used. The tubes are the EL84 tubes, which are still considered one of the most musical tubes there are.
