Egyptian Carnelian Scarab
Late Period, 664-332 BC. A carved carnelian scarab with detailing to the carapace and legs, blank base, pierced for suspension. 2.85 grams, 15.8mm (1 1/2"). Property of a London gentleman; before that in the private collection of a Kensington collector; acquired Austria in 1993; previously in the Trimbacher collection; formerly acquired in Germany in 1980.
