Egyptian Carnelian Wedjat Eye Amulet

Late New Kingdom, 1550-1070 BC. A well carved amuletic wedjat eye pendant with ribbed suspension loop, almond-shaped eye with raised detailing, large oval pupil, incised detailing to the teardrop and eyebrow. Cf. Property of a gentleman; acquired from the collection of a West London businessman, from a collection formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; formerly in a 1970s private collection.
