Egyptian Faience Amulet Collection
Late Period, 664-332 BC. A mixed group of five glazed composition amulets comprising: Pataikos modelled in the round standing on a rectangular base, suspension loop to reverse; Anubis modelled standing on a rectangular base, pierced through the head for suspension; a seated deity with dorsal pillar pierced for suspension; the kneeling figure of Shu(?) on a polygonal base, dorsal pillar pierced for suspension; fragment of robed figure standing on a rectangular plinth, holding crook or flail, dorsal pillar to reverse. 8.43 grams total, 16-33mm (1/2 - 1 1/4"). Property of a London gallery; previously with a London art dealer; formerly with S.A.; from a British collection formed in the 1960s-1970s. [5]
