Egyptian Faience Amulet Collection

Late-Ptolemaic Period, 664-30 BC. A mixed group of thirty mainly composition amulets and other objects comprising: a blue glazed finger ring with ellipsoidal bezel; an amphora-shaped amulet; five fruit amulets, one gold-coloured; two scarabs, one stone, pierced for suspension; eight Eye of Horus amulets of various types; two feline amulets and a cat's head; two votive legs; torso and head or an animal-headed god; Pataikos amulet; uraeus amulet; a group of fragments including part of a ceramic seal stamped with figural cartouches, a scalloped appliqué, pierced fragment with partial wing(?) motif, and others. 67 grams total, 8-38mm (1/4 - 1 1/2"). Property of a London gallery; previously with a London art dealer; formerly with S.A.; from a British collection formed in the 1960s-1970s. [30]
