A composition amulet formed as the jackal-headed god Anubis standing on a rectangular base, dorsal pillar to reverse; pierced at the junction of body and pillar for suspension. 3.22 grams, 35mm (1 1/4"). Property of a London gallery; previously with a London art dealer; formerly with S.A.; from a British collection formed in the 1960s-1970s. The god of mummification and the afterlife; one of ancient Egypt's oldest deities. [No Reserve]
