Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1076 to 332 BCE. A gorgeous necklace of a wearable form composed of dozens of petite glazed faience seed beads in a variety of vibrant hues. The colorful beads are interspersed with several squat cylindrical beads and incised rectangular beads, and the spherical central pendant features shallow striations along the exterior. Strung in modern times and capped with a silver-plated loop and lobster clasp combo, this is an elegant example of ancient art meets modern fashion. Size (necklace): 18" L (45.7 cm); (central pendant): 0.6" W x 0.75" H (1.5 cm x 1.9 cm)

Condition Report: Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Faience beads are ancient, and stringing and silver-plated components are modern. Minor abrasions and fading to glaze color of some beads, otherwise intact and very good. Great traces of original glaze pigment throughout.
