[ translate ]

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1076 to 332 BCE. The body of the necklace features hundreds of petite faience seed beads as well as dozens of tubular beads, all in hues of blue, green, yellow, brown, red, white, and black. Dozens of columnar beaded bars are enclosed with two strands of seed beads, with fuchsia-hued bars with beaded terminals hanging from the outer periphery, and turquoise-hued tubes beneath the copper loop and lobster clasp. Strung in modern times, this is a fabulous and wearable example of ancient Egyptian art meets modern stylization! Size (necklace): 17" L (43.2 cm); (longest bead): 0.55" L (1.4 cm)
