Egyptian Faience Beaded Necklace - 3 Braided Strands
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A fabulous necklace of a wearable form that boasts hundreds of faience beads glazed in polychrome hues. The necklace features a three-strand design with groups of seed-form beads interspersed with slender, tubular beads, and the three strands are presented in a loosely braided fashion that evokes a sense of elegance. A wonderful accessory that is strung in modern times and capped with a gold-filled loop and lobster clasp combo. Size (necklace): 26.5" L (67.3 cm); (largest bead): 0.55" L (1.4 cm)

Condition Report: Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Faience beads are ancient, and stringing and gold-filled components are modern. Minor nicks, pitting, and abrasions to some beads, and light fading to areas of original glaze color, otherwise intact and very good. Smooth patina throughout.
