Egyptian Faience Necklace & Bracelet w/ Eyes of Horus

[ translate ]

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A fine necklace and bracelet of wearable form, each constructed using dozens of petite faience beads glazed in polychrome hues. The necklace presents with tubular and seed beads alternating along each side until branching into 2 strands on either side of the petite glazed faience wadjet (also wedjat or Eye of Horus) pendant. Alternatively, the bracelet features far more seed beads with fewer tubular beads though all with more vivid glaze coloration, and a fragmentary wadjet pendant is situated in the center. Both the necklace and bracelet are capped with modern silver loops and clasps to enable their wearability. Size (necklace): 19.375" L (49.2 cm); (wadjet pendant): 0.49" W x 0.37" H (1.2 cm x 0.9 cm); silver quality: 90.8%; (bracelet): 8.5" L (21.6 cm); (wadjet pendant): 0.58" W x 0.71" H (1.5 cm x 1.8 cm); silver quality: 90.8%
