Ancient Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate period, 11th to 17th Dynasty, ca. 2130 to 1550 BCE. A modern 14K gold ring setting that displays an ancient glazed faience scarab in the swiveling ovoid bezel. The delicate composition exhibits characteristic insectile features on the topside as well as a trio of incised hieroglyphs of protection on the underside.
