Egyptian Faience Scarab (in 14K Gold Swivel Ring)

Ancient Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate period, 11th to 17th Dynasty, ca. 2130 to 1550 BCE. A modern 14K gold ring setting that displays an ancient glazed faience scarab in the swiveling ovoid bezel. The delicate composition exhibits characteristic insectile features on the topside as well as a trio of incised hieroglyphs of protection on the underside. Condition Report: Wearable as shown and constructed in modern times. Faience scarab is ancient; gold setting is modern. Minor abrasions to scarab, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to hieroglyphs and finer details.
