Egyptian Faience Ushabti Funerary Figure
An Egyptian faience glazed ceramic ushabti or shabti funerary statuette, modeled in traditional mummiform form with crossed arms. The figure retains an attractive blue-green patina with surface wear and encrustation consistent with age. Mounted on a later black display base. The form and surface are consistent with ancient Egyptian funerary examples, though the age and archaeological origin have not been independently authenticated. Measures: 2-1/2" H x 3/4" W. Provenance: From the Estate of Carmine Vito “Tod” Todisco (1930–2025), founder and CEO of Northern Plastics Corp., a Syracuse-area manufacturer specializing in fiberglass furniture and commercial products. Todisco was also a collector of cultural artifacts, antiques and art.
