Egyptian Glazed Faience Ushabti

**First Time At Auction**

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti, standing in mummiform with a dorsal pillar atop an integral rectangular plinth, and holding a pick and hoe in hands crossed atop the chest. The ovoid head has a perky nose, a false beard extending from the chin, and lengthy lappets on the tripartite wig. Size: 1.3" W x 4.625" H (3.3 cm x 11.7 cm).

Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s

Condition Report: Repaired from approximately four large pieces, with light restoration to some areas, and resurfacing and overpainting to new material as well as light adhesive residue along break lines. Fading and abrasions to areas of glaze pigment with softening to some finer details on face. Light earthen deposits and nice traces of original glaze color throughout.
