Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A gorgeous necklace of a wearable form that is constructed from dozens of faience, carnelian, and gold components. Presented in captivating hues of turquoise, vermilion, and gold, this accessory features 20 spherical carnelian beads that alternate with either singular or fused double faience seed beads in glazed blue-green hues. Condition Report: Wearable as shown and strung in modern times. Carnelian spheres, faience beads, gold foil caps, and gold foil tubes are ancient; stringing, loop, and double French hook are modern. Minor abrasions to some beads, with small indentations and peripheral tearing to some gold tubes and caps, and fading to glaze pigment on some faience beads, otherwise intact and excellent. Beautiful chromatic presentation and nice patina to gold and carnelian components!
