Egyptian Limestone Head of a Priest Roman Period, 30 BC-323 AD

A carved limestone head of a priest with shaven head, finely modelled facial features, lined forehead; mounted on a custom-made stand. 1.8 kg total, 20cm including stand (8"). Fine condition.
Provenance
From an important London collection; acquired from J.J. Klejman of Madison Avenue, New York, USA, in the 1960s; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no.10115-167434.
