A hand-carved hardstone heart scarab exhibiting naturalistic features along the topside like striated elytra and a notched clypeus. The uninscribed underside indicates that this scarab was likely for sale. Once a heart scarab was purchased, the artisan would inscribe personalized names and prayers, typically for newlyweds or deceased individuals cheating their way into the afterlife.
