Egyptian Wooden Striding Figure

Late Period, 664-332 BC. A carved wooden figure of an advancing male, head with exaggerated eyes and hair in Nubian-style tiered layers; socket to each shoulder to accept a pegged arm. 126 grams, 26cm (10 1/4"). Property of a Middlesex lady; acquired on the London art market in 2007; formerly in a private collection formed in the 1980s.
