An Egyptian faience amulet of Isis holding child Horus, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, the goddess sits on a open work throne decorated with uraei with human arms. She wears a headdress consisting of a lotus flower and cow's horns, the young Horus she suckles in her lap. An attractive piece with remains of pale blue glaze and good style. H: 2 1/5 in (5.6cm). Ex Estate of Donald Brown, Boston, Massachusetts, collected in the 1960's.
