Egyptian faience fragment depicting a pair of cartouches

An Egyptian faience fragment depicting a pair of cartouches for Amenhotep III, New kingdom, c. 1386 - 1353 BC, perhaps a grape cluster, or textured inlay from a wall tile or similar with two cartouches containing his throne name and birth name, 'Neb Maat Ra' and 'Amenhotep, ruler of Thebes'. 4 x 4.5 cm. Remnants of black glaze on the various lobes and a pale blueish glaze on the cartouches, Ex Connecticut private collection acquired from Susette Khayat, Ancient Arts Gallery, NY, and with card indicating that it was found at Malkata on the West Bank near Thebes and is a surplus original from the Egyptian collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
