Egyptian painted wood ushabti, Late New Kingdom
An Egyptian painted wood ushabti, Late New Kingdom, c. 1200 - 1075 BC, mummiform, wearing tripartite wig, arms crossed at mid-section, each hand holding a hoe, basket on back. The details are painted in black pigment including a vertical column of hieroglyphic text down the front of the legs. Well-preserved for the type with inscription down front and netting on back, H: 6 7/8 in (17.4cm). Ex North Yorkshire, UK private collection.
