Egyptian scarab w/ Sphinx & Tuthmosis III cartouche
An Egyptian steatite scarab with Sphinx and cartouche for Tuthmosis III, New Kingdom, c. 1482 - 1075 BC, the body, head and legs nicely carved; on base, the Pharaoh is depicted as a sphinx laying on enemy, cartouche with praenomen of Thutmose III, 'Men-Kheper-Ra' to side. 19 x 14mm. Ex collection of Gustave Mustaki, formed in the mid-20th Century.
