Egyptian scarab with amuletic cartouches, Thutmose III
An Egyptian steatite scarab with amuletic cartouches for Thutmose III, 25th - 26th Dynasty, c. 745 - 525 BC, the body, head and legs nicely carved; on base, a pair of amuletic cartouches of Thutmose III surmounted by double ostrich plumes, 'neb' sign below. A nice example and could also refer to a pharaoh from the same period who also had the same praenomen as the great Thutmose III. 20 x 15 mm. Ex collection of Gustave Mustaki formed in the mid-20th Century.
