Elbaite (Tourmaline) Goma, North Kivu, DR Congo 8.8 x 2.9 x 2.6 cm (3.46 x 1.14 x 1.02 in) Simply gorgeous Elbaite specimen that weighs 95.6 grams and is composed of well-terminated crystals, all of which are deeply striated and have a strong vitreous luster. The upper portions of the crystals are highly transparent with attractive shades of blue and green. Toward the base, the crystals transition to a more translucent yellow-green hue, creating a pleasing gradient the specimen's center.
