Elbaite (Tourmaline) Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan 14.5 x 1.8 x 1.4 cm (5.71 x 0.71 x 0.55 in) This impressive Elbaite comes from the renowned pegmatites of Paprok, a locality celebrated for producing exceptional Tourmaline specimens. The primary crystal measures 14.5 centimeters in length and is doubly terminated, with a complex termination at one end and a complete termination at the other. Pastel pink zoning extends through most of the crystal, transitioning to a pale green band just below the upper termination before returning to pink at the tip. A smaller parallel growth is attached along one side of the main crystal, displaying similar pink zoning and ending in a colorless, complex termination. Together, the two crystals create an elegant and well-balanced composition. This specimen comes with an acrylic base, on which the crystal can be laid to better present both terminations.
