Elbaite (Tourmaline) on Morganite Mawi pegmatite, Nilaw-Kolum pegmatite field, Nuristan, Afghanistan 5.3 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm (2.09 x 1.38 x 1.18 in) This specimen is centered on a gemmy Morganite crystal displaying a delicate pastel pink color with smooth, reflective crystal faces. Nearly a dozen Elbaite crystals are included within the Morganite, varying in size and color from dark green and light green to colorless and pale pink. The Morganite ranges from transparent to translucent, allowing the included Tourmaline crystals to remain clearly visible throughout much of the crystal.
