Elbaite (Tourmaline) with Lepidolite Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan 9.4 × 5.4 × 3.4 cm (3.70 × 2.13 × 1.34 in) This distinctive combination specimen from Afghanistan features more than a dozen Elbaite crystals scattered throughout a sculptural cluster of Lepidolite booklets. The Elbaites display a bright green color, with only a few exhibiting complete colorless terminations that provide subtle variation across the specimen. The Lepidolite forms a dense aggregate of waxy, pale lavender booklets that envelop and frame the Elbaite crystals in a balanced arrangement. A gemmy, colorless Quartz crystal emerges from the left side of the specimen, providing an additional point of interest among the Lepidolite. From the collection of John Warn [AFG1826d].
