Elbaite on Microcline Himalaya Mine, Gem Hill, Mesa Grande District, San Diego Co., California, USA "A terminated three inch pink tourmaline growing on a well formed gray 4.5 inch feldspar crystal with minor albite and purple lepidolite crystals. Bought from Bill Larson" - Rock H. Currier California: Oranges, Disneyland, Surfers, Himalaya Tourmalines. Even Rock was not immune to the siren lure of our locally produced Tourmaline varietal from the exotic terroir of Mesa Grande. This fine 'domestic' has garnered praise for its quality all the way from here, to China, and back. Here it is part of a blended meritage composed of: a pastel pink, terminated Tourmaline prism, generously paired with a 'massively' crystalline Feldspar Gris with hints of lilac Lepidolite in the finish. Acquired from Bill Larson: a man whose nose knows. This is vintage 1987 or before. Overall Measurements: 4.5 x 2.9 x 2.8 inches (11.5 x 7.3 x 7.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Pala International (Bill Larson) [RHC #5539, acquired 1987] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
