In full:
"Dear George,
I am so very sorry, chiefly because of what it means to you in delay, it may take a long time but we must win out - of course we will go on working & the first chance I have I will be up to see you but it can't be right away because I am very busy doing many things just now -
My thoughts are much with you & my affection always,
Eleanor Roosevelt
Saturday."
The year 1932 was indeed a busy time for Eleanor Roosevelt. She served as a key surrogate campaigner and political organizer during FDR's presidential campaign, traveling extensively to speak on his behalf. Eleanor also published two works in 1932: "Hunting Big Game in the Eighties: The Letters of Elliott Roosevelt, Sportsman," and "When You Grow Up to Vote." The former was a collection of letters written by Eleanor's father, Elliott Roosevelt (1860-1894), detailing his youth, travels, and big-game hunting expeditions; the latter a children's book on civic education.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
