Elizabeth O'Neill Verner
(Charleston, South Carolina, 1883-1979) Graphite on paper pencil drawing of Ravenel Doorway, an etching was produced depicting this very location as well. The work is framed nicely with exhibition panel from the Gibbes Art Museum of Charleston, SC which shows Mrs. Verner in both oval portrait as a young woman and also in one of her famed art classes that she loyalty taught to the citizens of Charleston. Very nice and well presented example. Drawing size: H9" W6" Framed: H30 3/4" W24 3/4" The piece was purchased by the current owner from a South Carolina auction house with provenance which stated that the work was presented to Mrs. Betty Hamilton a descendant of Mrs. Verner.
