Elvis Presley Strands of Hair Gathered From Graceland December, 1973 W/Notarized Letter of Provenance - These strands of hair from the beloved entertainer Elvis Presley were gathered from the bathroom floor at Graceland in December of 1973. The strands come with a notarized letter of provenance from well known collector Alyce H. Peterson, who acquired the hair from one of the women who gathered it from Graceland, Norene Clark. The hair will also come with a copy of an original statement of authenticity from Norene Clark. Norene Clark was best friends with Martha Dunkle, and the pair were visiting Harold Loyd (Elvis' cousin and gate guard) that December, 1973 evening. Martha was pregnant with Harold's child, and had to use the restroom. Harold eventually let Martha and Norene inside to use the restroom, where they discovered the hair on the floor. Harold explained that the hair was left from Elvis' haircut earlier in the day, and allowed the two woman to collect some. This piece has excellent investment potential, as collection the hair of famous entertainers has become a booming industry, and in general celebrity hair has been increasing in value over time. In 2010, a lock of Elvis' hair cut at the time of his induction into the United States Army sold for $20,000, and in 2021 GWS Auctions has the privilege of selling a jar of Elvis' hair for over $72,000.
