Elvis Presley's Personally Owned and Worn 1.50ctw Diamond and 14K Yellow Gold Tri-Level Ring Given to Alan Fortas W/Letter From Priscilla Presley and (4) LOAs- This ring was personally owned by Elvis Presley. The ring was designed by Elvis jewelers Schwartz & Ableser and is crafted of solid 14k yellow gold in a tri-level design with approximately 1.50ctw full cut diamonds lined in white gold. The ring was eventually given by Elvis to Alan Fortas, who was a Memphis Mafia member and worked for Elvis from 1958 until just after the 1968 Comeback Special. Alan was one of Elvis' closest confidantes, serving as a bodyguard and personal assistant. The ring comes with a letter from Fortas which states in part, "I was given this ring as a gift by Elvis Presley when I was at his home in Beverly Hills, California in 1972...Elvis gave the ring to me after I commented on the unique design. Elvis was quite the generous man and often gave his jewelry and other personal affects to friends and family at the slightest admiration of a piece, and it is not surprising that he would give a piece such as this to a trusted friend. The ring will also come with a letter from Schwartz & Ableser stating that the ring was made in their store for Elvis Presley and purchased around the year 1970, who later purchased it back in 1982 and sold it to a collector whose handwritten letter recalling the purchase is also included with the piece. The lot will also include a letter of authenticity from Elvis collector and historian Joseph Kereta along with a binder of various information, and a letter from Priscilla Presley. Ring top measurements: 19mm x 13mm. Ring size: 9. (WEIGHT: 9.9 grams)
