Vernon Presley was sentenced to three years in the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman on May 25, 1938 for forging a check. Vernon was released on February 6, 1939 with a six month suspension of his sentence, granted on condition of continued good behavior. This lock comes with a letter of authenticity from a collector who acquired the lock from a gentleman who lived near the prison and was a fan of Elvis Presley.
