Elvis Presley's Personally Owned Private 1962 Lockheed Jetstar 1329 Purchased for Vernon Presley (Previously Owned by Morton Salt Co.) as Seen on TV W/Blue Ribbon Certified True Copy of FAA Documents and Letter From Priscilla Presley (20% Buyer's Premium) - This jet was personally owned by Elvis Presley, and is the "Lost" jet he purchased with his father, Vernon Presley. The jet has been featured on TV by Discovery Channel, and made world news for several days when it was first sold in May of 2017. The aircraft has also been a huge tourist attraction at the airport in Roswell, NM. The winning bidder will receive FAA Blue Ribbon Certified True Copy of the FAA Documents of the aircraft's fascinating history. The jet is the only airplane known of that once belonged to Elvis Presley that is still owned privately, as the only other two remain at Graceland. Elvis purchased the jet with his father in December, 1976. The included FAA documents cover the history of the jet beginning from when it was first built and weighed in December 1961, through 2003. The jet was first leased to a company by Lockheed from December 1961 through September 1962, and was then sold by Lockheed to the Morton Salt Company in November 1962. The Morton Salt Company owned the jet through July 1976 when it was sold Omni Aircraft Sales. Elvis purchased this jet with his father Vernon from Omni Aircraft Sales on December 22, 1976. The documents include copies of the Bill of Sale in Elvis Presley's name, Aircraft Registration Application in Elvis' name signed by Vernon as his power of attorney, Aircraft Security Agreement (mortgage) in Elvis' name signed by both Elvis and Vernon Presley, and other various documentation regarding updates to equipment and sales. This jet has the potential of being restored, and placed on exhibit for the world to see. Please note: The plane has no engines, and the cockpit has most components missing. Please be advised that this artifact is located in Roswell, NM and would have to be disassembled in order to be shipped. Our auction firm will play an assistive role in facilitating shipping at the winning bidder's expense, as we have already received several quotes. Due to the amount of global press this artifact has already received, we would also be willing to assist in a post auction PR campaign for the winning bidder as we would expect that this item being moved after over 40 years would garner major worldwide press. This artifact is currently owned by a very loyal Elvis Presley fan who is over 80 years old and would like to sell it and see it restored for the world to enjoy. The winning bidder will receive a letter of ownership from the previous owner, the FAA documents, a letter from Priscilla Presley and a letter of ownership from the current owner. Our auction house also kept a media archive of every major publication, and most international news stories about the artifact when it was last sold. We will supply this to the winning bidder as a courtesy. PLEASE NOTE: The buyer's premium will be reduced to 20% for this lot only.
