Elvis Presley's Late 1960s Personally Owned and Worn 10K Yellow Gold and Onyx Initial 'E' Ring W/Diamond Accent (Comes W/Extensive Documentation) - This ring was personally owned and worn by Elvis Presley around the late 1960s. The ring is crafted of 10k yellow gold with a 16mm x 12mm rectangular cut flat onyx with a gold initial 'E' and a diamond accent set in a white gold mounting. The ring was eventually given by Elvis to a contractor who was repairing a wall that the entertainer had shot at his Hillcrest Road home. This ring comes with a letter of authenticity from Mary Pride, who acquired this ring from Soto. Mary Pride was an employee at the International Hotel during Elvis' first engagement in 1969/1970. The letter from Pride details how she came to meet Elvis one day after writing a letter to tell him how much she appreciated him and his music, and to her surprised received a response back. Mary Pride would meet Elvis on two different occasions where the pair would exchange gifts that included a ring from her father that she gave to Elvis, and a scarf and ring from Elvis in return (Please see the ring given by Elvis to Mary Pride in Lot 25E). After these exchanges, Mary Pride would become a major Elvis collector over the years. Pride purchased this particular ring in the early 1970s from a contractor by the name of John Soto, who was tasked with repairing a wall at Elvis' Hillcrest Road home in Beverly Hills after Elvis had shot the wall. According to Mary's account, "Another ring I acquired was from John Soto who was a contractor and was repairing a wall at Elvis' Hillcrest home in CA after a shooting spree against the wall. Elvis was at the house and was talking to the contractor and gave him this square gold onyx 'E' initial ring as a gift in the late 1960s. After John made the comment if he could keep the bullets he retrieved from the wall." This ring will also come with a letter from Priscilla Presley and a folder of other various documentation including: two signed letters from Elvis historian and collector Joseph Kereta, a letter from the Elvis Presley Museum signed by Daniel Johnson, a photocopy of John Soto's business card, and images of other items acquired by Kareta from Mary Pride.
