Elvis Presley's Personally Owned Onyx, Diamond and 10K Yellow Gold Ring Given to International Hotel Employee W/(2) LOAs - This ring was personally owned and worn by Elvis Presley and was given to a fan and International Hotel staff member in 1970. Elvis Presley's first engagement at the International Hotel opened on August 1st, 1969, and was his first public stage appearance in eight years. The fan response was overwhelming and the series of concerts broke house records. The ring is crafted of 10k yellow gold with a brushed finish, 15.5mm onyx and diamond accent set in white gold. The ring comes with a letter of authenticity from Mary Pride, who was working at the International Hotel during Elvis' first engagement in 1969/1970. The letter from Pride details how she came to meet Elvis one day after writing a letter to tell him how much she appreciated him and his music, and to her surprised received a response back. The letter goes on to say how Charlie Hodge helped her arrange a meeting with Elvis, at which she gave him a ring that had been given to her by her father. The letter states in part, "I presented the ring to Elvis who was so moved that he not only gave me a scarf that he was wearing but a ring from his finger and handed it to me. The ring was a gold, oval, black onyx ring with a diamond center piece." The ring also comes with a notarized statement from collector Joseph Kereta and a binder filled with other various documentation such as images of other items acquired by Kareta from Mary Pride, and other information about Kareta and his collection.
