Elvis Presley's Personal Transistor Radio and Leather Case From RCA Records W/LOA and Letter From Priscilla Presley - This personal RCA Victor transistor radio and leather case was presented to Elvis Presley from RCA Records during his time as a recording artist with the company. The move to RCA Records was a major step in Elvis' career and he recorded some of his biggest hits with the company. This radio is housed in a custom fitted leather case with a brass plaque reading, "Presented to Elvis Presley RCA Victor." The radio was donated to the Memphis Salvation Army by Elvis' father, Vernon Presley, in the 1970s. Elvis often donated both money and his personal affects to various causes, and with the help of his father and uncle also donated clothing and various items to the Salvation Army on a regular basis. This radio comes with a letter of provenance from a gentleman who obtained the radio from the Memphis Salvation Army, and a letter from Elvis historian and collector Joseph Kereta. The item will also come with a letter from Priscilla Presley, and several pages documenting Elvis' various donations to the Salvation Army over the years. Case measurements: 6.5" x 5" x 1.75".
