Emanuel Krescenc Liška (1852 - 1903) TOWERS OF THE TEMPLE OF ST. NICHOLAS IN THE LESSER TOWN
Before 1900
Oil on canvas
90,5 x 49 cm (h x w)
Signed: Lower right "E. K. Liška"
Emanuel Krescenc Liška often devoted himself to biblical themes, which he portrayed in an unusually suggestive manner with a mystical touch. The presented work is a rare example of a different thematic position of his work, which was dedicated to the realistic depiction of the landscape. The capture of various textures such as bricks, plaster and foliage, which add a haptic dimension to the piece, is particularly excellent. Working with light is almost photorealistic. Expert opinion of PhDr. Nadežda Blažíčková-Horová is enclosed to the artwork.
