Rarissima prima edizione di quest’opera conosciuta solo in due esemplari, di cui fu pubblicata solo la prima parte. Importante libro di modelli e di disegni di ricami, dai motivi più diversi, preziosa testimonianza di una tradizione nata proprio in Italia nel primo cinquecento; tali modelli sono stati l’iconografia di riferimento non solo nella zona di Venezia, dove fu storica l’arte del merletto, ma in tutta Italia. L’uso pratico che si faceva di questi libri, che spesso erano smembrati e i cui modelli venivano bucati per trasportare il disegno sulla stoffa, rende particolarmente raro e pregiato il fatto di trovarli in stato di completezza e di buona conservazione. Very rare first edition known in only two specimen of this work published only this first part. Important book of models and designs of embroidery, from different reasons, precious testimony of a tradition actually born in Italy in the early sixteenth century; these models have been the reference iconography not only in the Venice area, where was the historic art of lacemaking, but throughout Italy. The practical use that was made of these books, which often were dismembered and whose models were perforated to carry the design on the fabric, makes it particularly rare and precious the fact to find them in a state of completeness and of good conndition.
