Emerson Portable Television

This portable cathode-ray tube television features a two-tone molded plastic cabinet with a bright blue top panel and off-white front and rear sections. The unit is fitted with a white plastic carrying handle secured by gold-toned metal brackets. The front face consists of a 19-inch diagonal glass screen, a gold-toned metal control panel, and a vertical plastic speaker grille. The control panel contains a large rotary channel selector with a clear plastic window and two smaller adjustment knobs. The rear of the cabinet is ventilated with molded horizontal and vertical slats and includes three recessed plastic adjustment dials. A white power cord is attached to the lower rear. An applied white plastic script badge reading Emerson is located on the speaker grille. The front control panel features a window with a circular logo and printed text reading Emerson Television and Radio, with further text below reading PRESS ON-OFF-VOL. and FINE TUNE. A gold-toned mark reading 19 followed by two vertical tick marks is located at the lower left of the screen bezel. The rear panel is embossed with a central rectangular section reading Emerson Radio and Phonograph Corporation above a circular logo and Jersey City, N.J. U.S.A. The rear adjustment dials are labeled with embossed text reading V-LIN, V-HOLD, and H-HOLD.
