Endre Vadasz Pencil Signed Etching

Item/Description: Signed figural landscape. Colored etching features river / bridge scene. Pencil signed and titled across bottom. Titled: Kilatas a Gellerthegyro. Gellerthegy (Gellert Hill) overlooks the Danube in Budapest, Hungary.
Endre Vadasz (1901 - 1944) was a Hungarian painter and graphic artist. He was a student of Ödon Heller, followed by Adolf Fenyes in Szeged and then Oszkar Glatz at the Academy of Fine Arts. He made a study tour of Italy in the twenties. In 1929 he visited Paris, where he discovered the Japanese wood engravings that influenced his later art.

Material: Colored woodcut / etching on paper, framed under glass.

Dimensions: Image size: Height: 6 1/4"; Width: 9". Framed: Height: 13"; Width: 16".

Condition: Wear to frame. Art not examined out of frame.

Age: 20th Century.
