Enfield MkII* three band.577 Snider rifle, 36inch barrel fitted with bayonet lug and folding ladder rear sight, the lock with crown VR stamp and 1863 date indicating the rifle was originally made as a muzzle loader, the stock with Enfield roundel and brass furniture, fitted with a reproduction white leather sling. Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out. Dimensions: 138cm longCondition Report The gun is in reasonable condition showing small signs of age and use. The bore is in fair order with all the rifling pattern remaining but there are some light pitting patches in the grooves. The blued finish is showing signs of wear, the barrel has possibly been reblued some time ago but this is not certain. There is some light surface speckling to the breech block. The action cocks and releases with a strong spring and there is good lock-up in the breech. The stock is free from splits or cracks, there are some small dents and scratches, the woodwork has possibly been very lightly cleaned up or sanded. Please register to request a condition report
