English School 18/19th Century - A miniature portrait of a young lady, said to be Mary Queen of Scots,:- head and shoulders with blue eyes and red hair, wearing a pale blue cap and blue dress with lace collar, on card, oval 5.5cm. *Notes A fragmented contemporary inscription on paper identifies the sitter as Mary Queen of Scots. However, other miniatures and biography of Mary Queen of Scots describe her eyes as 'light-brown'.
