A gentleman, possibly a merchant or businessman of Caribbean origin, wearing blue coat with gold buttons, white waistcoat, stock and frilled chemise

In a gilt metal frame, the reverse with bright engraved bands and glazed oval cartouche revealing monogram FP atop woven hair, fixed with brooch mount (broken)
Condition Report:
Some light surface dirt to the miniature under the glaze, together with some light rubbing at the faming edges. There is an area to the back of the sitter's collar where it looks like the lighter pigment my have discoloured slightly, but it is not clear whether this is the case, or whether this was the artist's intended impression. Inspection under UV reveals no evidence of restoration or repair.
The brooch mount is broken and missing the pin. Some light scuffs and surface dirt to the glaze (recto) and some heavier nicks to the glazed aperture (verso). Light surface scratches throughout commensurate with age. Condition Report Disclaimer
