Condition Report:
The canvas has been lined and is providing a flat and stable support to the paint surface. The paint appears to have thinned in areas but in most instances appears original to the work as an unfinished composition. Historic frame rubbing to the extremities of the top left corner. Small speck of paint loss to the sitter's hair. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a layer of opaque varnish, small spots of retouching to the sitter's hair and face. Further touches to her chest and the background, mainly above her hat and to the edges of the canvas.
