Three portraits of Lady Eleanora, Lady Constance and Lord Paget as children
each oil on board
each unframed: 27 x 22 cm.; 10⅝ x 8⅝ in.
each framed: 30.5 x 26 cm.; 12 x 10¼ in.
(3)
Condition Report:
Each panel is flat and even, providing stable supports to the paint surface. Overall the three portraits present well.
Lady Eleanora (elder daughter): Fine and settled craquelure in some areas of the surface, slight raised section of craquelure to the upper left hand corner although difficult to gage as under glazing. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a layer of varnish and retouching to her face (small spots), above her head, her clothing and sections to the back ground.
Lady Constance (younger daughter): The work presents very well. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a layer of varnish and retouching to the central sections of the top, left and right edges. A few small specks to her face.
Lord Paget: Fine and settled craquelure in some areas of the surface. The surface is slightly dirty in areas but otherwise appears in good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a layer of varnihs and retouching above the sitter's head, to his arm, and body (to address craquelure), centre bottom edge and along the left and right edges.
